The Faithful Goose - where did you get that name?

A lot of people have asked how on earth I got to use the name The Faithful Goose. Well, let me disclose this little story.

My family has a family motto "Mit Gansch Trouwe" which is old Dutch spelling meaning With Complete Loyalty. Twenty years ago many partners in Dutch law firms, such as I, had to incorporate their partnership shares in limited liability companies. I chose as a name "De Trouwe Gans", reshuffling my family motto. "Gans" (or "Gansch" as it was spelled until early last century) has two meanings: "complete" and "goose". When setting up my new business the name was not a very difficult thing: I just took the English translation for De Trouwe Gans.

And the rest is history.
