At present, I am in the process of conducting interviews with project directors of world class construction projects in preparation of my book, provisionally titled Successful Inception and Completion of Construction Projects which will, hopefully, be published later this year with Informa Law from Routledge. This is a fascinating journey, because the wealth of experience which is presently being shared with me, is of such high quality. These experiences all point in the direction that for projects to be really successful a new type of leadership is required; with emphasis on communication and psychological skills rather than technical. Obviously, the latter are of extreme importance. But all those big contractors know their jobs, that's why they are on earth in the first place. The real challenge is: how to avoid disputes and keep everyone, including the general public, happy with the building processes and the results.
